The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I am not great with reviews but I'll do my best. The Perks.. in the form of a diary in a way, through a series of letters to an unknown person moderates the life of the freshmen teen, Charlie. Charlie explains his every day life through words and phrases that hit you with a strong feeling of nostalgia and can't help you from thinking on old memories you oddly remember but love in a certain way only you can explain. Charlie writes 

"I am writing to you because she said you listen and understand and didn't try to sleep with that person at that party even though you could have(...)I just need to know that someone out there listens and understands and doesn't try to sleep with people even if they could have.  I need to know that these people exist."

Through the story we see how Charlie falls into place with people that accept him and who he feels he truly loves.

The United States of Leland

This independent film stars Ryan Gosling and Don Cheadle. Leland, a criminal for stabbing a retarded boy, narrates us on how sees world and the bits and pieces that have made him who he is. We learn his opinions on love, sadness, and how it effects our lives. Leland's lack of interest to what goes on around him shows his inability to physically express his emotions..but once he can bottle his feelings no more he does something that will change his life and lives around him forever.
